I think that Guru Pathik deserved a higher spot, for his wisdom and how strong the avatar state is.

I'd think that Toph should be "Original Bender" since she invented and mastered Metal bending.

The fact that Gyatso made Aang a master by the age of 12 while constantly making him have fun should prove that he deserves a way higher spot!

Zuko was life changing. I dont think anyone would argue he is less than that.

I love the line delivery in "You want to stop breathing?"

Hama was definitely life changing for Katara––maybe more life scarring, but definitely life changing.

You know the tier list is bad when Iroh, the man who not only taught firebending to Firelord Zuko, helped Kora as a spirit, and even taught many valuable life lessons to us, the viewers, when the dragon of the west himself isn't in the top tier. Disgraceful.

Actually jinora should also be in this list,
She trained the new Airbenders and the avatar as well, in both air and spiritual stuff.

"this ability would later save aangs life"
proceeds to be put in "valuable"

I would love to have both Iroh and Toph as my mentors.

This Tier list is Detention rank. It plays like someone never watched Avatar, just read a Buzzfeed article about it and decided to give it a shot.

Jeon Jong in bender basic? Nooo, he taught Aang one of the most important things of fire bending: An uncontrolled fire will only make destruction.

how is patik basic and zuko valuable? without those two aang would be toast in his battle with ozai

Katara and Tenzin are my favorites on the list! I would certainly love them to be my mentors ❤️

And hey, a little honorable mention to Korra, who was Opal's first teacher, who she debuted with as it was her first time teaching someone. And she did very well.

Guru Pathik is life-changing for me if not for the Avatar. His teachings to Aang regarding chakras inspired me to delve deeper into spiritual philosophies. I was only 6 when it aired.
