Just subscribed as I’m thinking of doing Amazon Flex (evening, weekends) would love to see a full shift video if possible to get a real idea of what is involved, how many parcel drops etc

That doesnt include the extra wear on your car though, tyre wear, engine wear from constant start stopping, brakes extra wear... you need to have your own vehicle, you also didn't include the extra cost in insurance, car ownership, servicing, car maintenance, ...

If you take all that out to your £13 an hour, you're getting very close to the national minimum wage...

I mean its extra income from sacrificing some of your free time after your day job, and in this day and age every little bit of income helps.

I couldn't understand why I was seeing so much surge rates a few weeks ago, and you helped me understand it was because of Ramadan. i drive Flex in USA.

It is worth noticing with Flex - it depends on the area. In my town the slots are taken as fast as they are released, so sadly can't wait for rate increases. But easy to do a 3.5 hours slot in 2.5 hours.

I pay my takeaway delivery drivers a minimum of £50 for a 4-hour shift and extra pay for over 20 deliveries. They get around £20 tips from customers, all cash, no tax.

Great video!

I have a question: how often did you have days when there was no work available or are there more couriers than work?
Thanks and good luck 🤞🏻

Do you have to include this type of work in your car insurance, did it mean your car policy goes up?

you have to take it taking your items to some one to do your books you have there fees. which may cost more than doing the books yourself. what ever you pay to have books done may be what you get back in the 45p a mile calc
car use is NOT just fuel. tyres wear. you have increase insurance using your car for business Use. service part and road tax.

Can you use your vehicle repairs as an expense?

Thanks mate! Im also doing this as a side hustle. Do you know if we are paying more in tax since we already have an income from a full time job as opposed to someone who does full time flex as self employed?

I started my business at the start of March and flex has been really decent to get a bit of money in whilst I grow that . I don’t know if it’s my location but a 3.5 hr block has only taken me over 2 hrs once . Normally £61-£66 …. Not the best but suits my current circumstance well . Did blocks during lockdown and the same block would of paid £39 so miles better in 2024

Tip for you : Look carefully the signs before approaching any minor road with restricted area. Amazon navigation as a sh.t, I used to be sent a penalty notice letter (Islington, london) 😢😢. I asked customer service but they didn’t support 😅

Thanks for doing this video, really helpful. It sounds like pretty good pay to me for a relatively easy job.

Did you manage to get the 45p per mile back?
