I have heard it said that even God will not unscramble scrambled eggs. We can make such a mess of our lives that the only thing left is the consequences no matter how hard you pray. God still forgives of course but sin leaves a mess.

Just the other day I saw a woman at the hotel I was staying in who was on the phone with another hotel checking rates and asking other questions about the hotel. She had all her stuff on a luggage cart behind her and I really felt the need to pay for a room for her, but I in a hurry to get to work, I disregarded what I feel like I was being led to do and just left.

God has been leaning on me for a while now to start giving more, but having lived and worked in Chicago for so long, I’ve been burned a lot of times. One of those times I gave a homeless guy about $30 worth of change and he put a sign up the next day that said “no change please”. So I hardened my heart to the needy.

Well, by my ignoring God to help that lady, I locked myself out of my truck the next day (first time ever) and had to pay a locksmith $115 to get it unlocked.

I believe that God not only doesn’t bless disobedience, but he will chasten us also when we disobey. That’s biblical actually. From Moses to Ananias and Saphira, to the Man of God in 2nd Kings that was killed by the lion.

His plan and His ways are too high and important for us to be hard headed, and Jesus said in Rev 3:19 For as many as I love, I chasten.
