As is the tradition we had a big pause after the last video about this car :) I am working on making the pauses smaller but..... whatever...
So it is time to assemble the overdrive. Will that go smooth? Yeah, right... wishful thinking... see for yourself

I have followed Anna since you got her. I’m glad to see she’s on the horizon. I know that you never took it off the radar scope but I’m very happy for you. Merry Christmas, my friend Steven, Texas.

thanks Elin. I am amazed at the complexity of the mechanism to engage the overdrive. Our early TR2 came with OD which was working when we quit driving it way too many years ago. Will be starting it this summer and hopefully the OD will work. I recall an early 1950s Ford OD option - on the diff and engaged by a lever ? John in Manitoba.

I always like your "more than one way to skin a cat" approach. Stripped bolt and the first thing I came up with was to weld but to only to apply weld to the stripped section of the bolts and cut new threads. You approach made me smile as it will work just fine but I know in the mean time you will be looking for the correct parts at local Triumph shows. just so that you have them.
By now you must have a good idea of what parts are no longer available so you could ask your viewers if they have the machinery to manufacture these "Specialist Rusties Rare Spares".

Glad to see ur working on the gt6...maybe add a nylon spacer on the inside against the lever paw, might help take the play out....also I know you will remove all of the gasket material from your work😮, remember, you are the one looking at what's inside, well, us too....keep working on your 6....I think it's cool that you can get parts for trs....pax

First to comment, don't lose hair over making videos. We are happy when you share something, but you have a very full life to live in addition to making videos. Looking forward to this one, although I won't be rebuilding an overdrive soon. Nonetheless, I shall watch and learn. Thanks, Elin!

Elin, it is probably worth calling the Rimmers support line to ask about compatible or unavailable overdrive parts, you might motivate them to improve or clarify the situation…..

The metal locking nuts most likely destroyed the threads on the studs. They can probably only be taken on and off a few times before the threads are gone.

The Oldtimer Rule struck again. It's always (at least) three times the amount of work you initially expect it to be :)
