This TT is to remind both ASL and ASLSK players to use their unit's Assault Fire capability if they possess it. It's a very powerful, but simple, mechanic that can help attacking (assaulting) units quite a bit!!

I've never played asl or any wargames. I only watched a little of your videos out of curiosity a couple days ago and now the asl starter kit is on it's way in the mail 👍

The quality of these video productions keeps getting better and better. I have no idea why, but I never applied "rounding up" when using Assault fire. Thanks for the correction, this changes everything! I suppose the advantage of the American paratroopers would be a column shift advantage in FP if the range was an adjacent target. As you showed with the Fallschirmjaeger unit who moved into close range and fired point blank for 6FP. Whereas the American Paratroopers would be firing at 8. 7FP/2 (for moving) = 3.5. 3.5x2 (point blank) = 7 and +1 for Assault Fire for 8.

The Assault Fire bonus of the German 548 squads, combined with the 3-8 Light Machine Gun, make them incredibly powerful especially if multiple squads Firegroup. 3x548/LMG has 24 FP out to normal squad range, but still dishes out 16 FP together in the AFPh.

An aspect many miss with Assault Fire is ensuring you do all the 1/2s, 1/4s, doubling, +1 and round up for each individual unit and then add everything together, as you point that out with the pop up note.

Don't forget that Poles typically get Assault Fire by SSR. And Waffen-SS get Assault Fire in 1944 - 45. Rule A25.11

Interesting that the units we need to treat as assault forces, have odd fire power with an assault underline.

Too many rules, the game bogs down with too much time rereading the rules.
