I like that the NCAA still has the mile. The 1500 just sounds silly. 'The Mile' has a reverence and history that can't be denied.

great race very well done, like everything else the male announcer that was calling the race was rooting for lauren gregory to win the race, but you had a runner olivia howell who was a better runner that did not get the recognition that lauren did.great race.

Just ran into Olivia in Dallas as she’s competing in the 1500 outdoors in Austin. I wished her and her teammates good luck this weekend. She’s such a class act and humble to listen to me talk about track as she’s waiting for a plane. Good luck this weekend!

I’ve never seen a rally like that where you’re passed and you find that extra gear

4, 34 mile at altitude
That's fast

Olivia ran a perfect race and I can't help wondering if some of Gregory's races leading up to this combined with the altitude took some of the "springiness" out of her legs. Regardless kudos to all of them for doing their best!

Gregory should not have run the DMR. Probably cost her the championship. The fastest seed times this season did not carry over to how this race turned out. Of course Tuohy is another story, but she had the 3K/5K double to contend with.

The girl who got runner up has a lot of bounce in her step. I'm sure she'll smooth that out over time and be faster.
I'll go back to eating my chips sitting on my couch.

The Harvard runner slid over at the end to try and make it harder to pass. I see other runners do that as well but it doesn't seem to get called a foul. They could have a rule that the lead runner cannot go into the second lane or are disqualified. At 5:18 you can see that Lauren Gregory of Harvard did that.

lauren gregory didnt win any title in her career, blame her coach becasue she could have won this if she didnt run dmr

Congrats Olivia Howell! I wondered where U went 2. Last year U ran a very nice XC, coming in like 9th, I'll have 2 go back & dbl-check. I touted U as some1 that might supplant Valby as her fiercest rival but haven't seen your name entered n2 anything since. On another note, nothing against Lauren Gregory but that commentator sure acts like Gregory is the greatest, yet I have only seen Gregory win 1 race. 'She has insane speed'...'look at the speed change in Gregory'...& now this race. Perhaps she'd win another event if this announcer wasn't calling the race.

I am not sure if I have heard a play by play call ruin an experience like this one. Just awful announcing.

Olivia had more muscles.. than the runner up.. that helped her to finish it better

My dearly departed great sainted 😅aunt. Please get rid of this female announcer who has a love affair going with the sound of her own voice. Without a break, she talked for over a whole lap. She, is an announcer best heard on mute.
