New Fescue Seed Project in the backyard is probably too early to try this at home, but we had to give it a shot. With my daughter's wedding coming up, we wanted to attempt some sort of lawn for the backyard, but in the end, the rains beat us again.

Products we used:
GCI Turf Type Tall fescue Grass Seed

[N-Ext] Seeding and Over-seeding Pack

0-0-1 RGS Root Growth Bio-Stimulant, Sea Kelp | N-Ext

16-21-2 GreenePOP Starter Fertilizer | N-Ext

I hate it when it rains hard after seeding and washes out all of your hard work! Great video, can't wait to see what the sod looks like!

All that hard work just to have the weather destroy it. Such a bummer Dino. It was looking great too. Hopefully the sod will solve that problem. Great video bud 👊🏼

I would overseed the bare spots, keep up your N-EXT routine, and it will be fine. You have about 70% germination by the looks of it. I think your seeding did pretty well for the amount of rain you got....Great video...

Is that part of your backyard wet/damp? At the base of that hill, put some a single row of railroad ties and on the backside of the ties, put a French drain. I bet you have a lot of water runoff from that hill

What kind of grass seed did the sod farm use for the tall fescue?

Hate to see this Dino. I drop the seed and go over my entire reno with a garden weasel. It takes a long time but works extremely well. Basically it acts as a slit seeder working it into the soil. I then roll over the whole yard with the same roller you have. I did a 3k front yard reno had 2" of rain in 2 hours the next day (30% chance of .1" mind you) and had near perfect germination. I've done this the past 2 years with heavy rain before germination and it's worked every time.

why not mix some ryegrass in should root the soil early enough so that the fescue has time to germinate..
