Very nicely said. Always do your research before investing money and effort into a new lawn. I’m seeding Bermuda this summer returned big box store seeds back and pursued a quality seed of specific hybrid. Best suited for my climate. My first time growing a new lawn. Very excited. Now germinating a samples of different varieties of Bermuda to see a final result.

Great info! I’m now a subscriber. So far, you’re the only YT vlogger I’ve found
who taught me how to read a label.

As a first time homeowner, I would never have known what to look for on the bag. I would have most likely bought whatever it said on it such as for sun and shade, etc. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you.

Great info, often people don’t really know what they’re looking at when they see those labels, they just grab what they know.

This was helpful. I have never trusted seed from the big box stores simply because I didn't know or understand what was in them. I have always done the work to research and find a cultivar that was best for me.

Depends on where you live.
I live in high elevation climate where it is cooler so the cheap seed works for me and quite well. Comes back annually as long as it's hydrated properly.

What about quackgrass ... this is my main concern on one of my lawns.

Also, perhaps a video about how to deal with mossy areas?
Or what about any non chemical herbicides? Not a fan of putting down 2-4D, Roundup or similar.

What would be the best grass for Bakersfield California? Super hot summers and still gets cold in winter? Also need something that grows quick?

Great video !
I had a question, I have a brand new lawn in south East KY, on the the border of TN. I brought in fill dirt to cover some low areas of the lawn and I have a little bit of grass left from the old lawn…. I like the idea of bluemuda grass, but I have read a lot of things about using tall fescue and rye. I’m pretty much starting from scratch. In your opinion what would be the best grass to plant and when ?

I love your videos, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for the great information! We live on Eastern Long Island, New York, our lawn is full of weeds and tons of dirt patches since we haven’t put anything down the past two years after getting chickens, but we are now in desperate need of doing something and keeping the chickens locked up for a little while is fine with me if we could finally have some grass back! Do you possibly have any specific recommendations of what brand and kind of seed we should get? Any help would be so appreciated, thank you!!

I live in central Utah and was thinking of reseeding some spots of my lawn and completely starting with nothing in other parts with tall fescue. (I’ve done some research on what grass would be best but not a ton). The lawn also gets full sun most of the day and partial shade. It’s the end of April is it too late to plant? It gets SUPER hot here, but so far this year we haven’t had a day over 70° yet. I do expect that to change. I just don’t want to have to wait to plant because the lawn is so ugly.

I'm in Southwest VA. What kind of seed would you recommend for late April? My front yard has been struggling for a couple of years due to mole damage. I want to try again but can't seem to get good advice on which seed to use. I have mostly weeds right now.
