I experience numbness on my arms, shoulders, back, rear and legs on whichever side I lay on. With my current 8 inch foam mattress I just sink almost down to the wooden base. Any area of my body I lay on with any pressure goes partly numb from sinking into the mattress.

What kind of spring or hybrid mattress offers the best support to prevent sinking too far, but is still soft enough to not add more pressure causing numbness?
What other suggestions do you have for finding a mattress supportive enough but not too firm?

130-230 pound range is huge. I weigh about 140/145, a long way from 230 pounds so how could I compare myself with a 230 pound person on the same mattress? It's ridiculous.
