FIX: Just select the folder with the longest name with a bunch of numbers and change the state value to 0 as shown at 3:40 in the video. Then hit exit under file on top left of the regedit window then restart

Dont press F8 while going to restart, just press and HOLD "SHIFT" and than klik "RESTART"

Restarting worked for me. Just a heads up that you might want to try that first before anything else. Though that's surprisingly often the case for most tech issues anyway.

Hey! It's working great so far but now we are at the same part he/she is on at 1:11, but it's not letting us click anything! Nothing is responding, any help?

EDIT: If you got stuck on this, right click on the window icon and click "Run" and type in the word he needed you to type then press "Ok"

Also if it's still not letting you use the window key or click the search bar at the end do " ctrl-alt-del" and go to the corner power button and it should have the options "Restart" and "Shut down ". You can use the restart button from there

Thank you so much. Worked great, the only issue I had was the start button didn't work in safe mode, as in I clicked on it and nothing happened. I was able to run the program by pressing Win + R and then typing "Regedit" and ran it from there. To reset I right-clicked on the start icon and the option was there. Again, thank you.

I was running 1808 Windows 10(old-non genuine copy) managed to update to latest one and then had this issue. Video solved it and all files have been kept !

when I press F4 and go to safe mode it gets me to the sign in screen and have to type my password to log in but it just says the same thing, user profile service failed to sign in

I didn’t have two of the same profiles like he did. However I changed the main one value to zero like he did and it fixed the problem. Thanks :)

Holy crap. The big red arrow is enough. Quit spazzing out with the mouse pointer, I don't need a seizure. That being said glad this video helped others. Didn't fix mine since mine didn't have duplicate registry entries and none of them had .bak. Guess I'll keep searching.

I was about to try this video, but then I saw a comment stating that Restarting did the job. I did the same and BOOM - Its all working fine now.

Thanks for your help...Didn't need to do anything more than enter safe mode and then restart.... I'd suggest everyone else try that first before going into registry and fiddling around.

I can not express how grateful I am since my power went out and when I came back and turned on the computer I got the error that I could not log in with my account and I had lost all my settings, the programs that started with Windows, my passwords, saved accounts, etc. I tried many solutions and tutorials without the result of recovering everything as I had before until I tried this tutorial and I left everything as before!
