After watching many of your videos I found that choosing C will give me a high probability to get a correct answer.

This is exactly how teachers teach this

You explain this better than my teacher

Correct. I did it the longer route by taking the negative of the front end equation

These problems are like questions in ntse exam which is held in india for class10 students for scholarship
Not as difficult as a entrance exam is....

Easiest way substitute the values for x from the problem, that also by predicting which one can be true

Just plug the first number into the equation and you will find that 3 is the only one that is correct so the answer has to be 3, 6. No reason to bother with the second number.

Question. If I applied the absolute to the equation so it makes
-9 + 2x = 3 and
9 - 2x = 3

So we also get x = 3, 6

Is that allowed and correct?
Love your content btw

Technical definition of an absolute value is a numbers distance from zero

The answer is C (3, 6) because of absolute value

-2x = -6
X= 3
|9-6| = 3
|9-12| = 3
I didn’t understand why we calculated 6 first

If u cal 3 just put 2 or 6 in that eq to solve it quickly right

With MC, I would use the ol' plug 'n' chug method.

Next time please do it fully. It is possible they there would be two answers with 6

The issue with assuming an answer determine off the answers given is in higher level math classes you will most likely not have multiple choices but proofs you will have to make about the given equation. Therefore, work out the whole problem not just part of it.

|9-2x|=3
2x=6 cus both side -3
x=3
So if the answer have 3 that is the correct answer and we dont have to calculate the other number.
This method is sometimes simpler and faster but it doesent always work.

One seem too low, so I started with choice B. I stuck in 3 And it worked but -2 did not work. The only other answer with three is C. I tried six real fast to check it and it worked

This is how I was taught about absolute values

It could be positive 3 too inside the modulus

That's not always sufficient. You need to analyse where the mod changes sign. Which is at 4.5 . Fortunately here the values obtained agree with the respective domains of X i.e. 3≤4.5 and 6≥4.5

Or just square it and answer through -b so you don’t have to do any guess work
