Alvin: Be humble

Literally 2 seconds later...
Alvin: I'm smart

0:14 eric struck the cord with Alvin the moment he said 'you're living my dream'. The way Alvin looks taken back by Eric's pure admiration, he unknowingly adopted Eric that day.

Alvin Leung sees a lot of himself in Eric Chong. That’s why he kept his eye on him 100% of the time, he knew the potential he had, so he tried to be as encouraging yet psychological as possible to keep him going and to harden him as a literal master chef. I’m so happy that Leung and Chong are now partners in the business.

Alvin is a self taught Michelin Star Chef! Mad respect to him! He’s a great in his own right! And he always gives constructive criticism and really tries to push the contestants to be better!

I respect chef Alvin for the fact that he still eats the food no matter how horrible it may seem. Not like the bald guy who throws food at the garbage bin without even tasting it.

This guy gives really good criticism. They try to cast him as some hardass but he honestly gives the most insightful feedback.

Alvin Leung reminds me of that one friend who keeps you accountable, gives you the best advice, and keeps you in check when you mess up. Really great constructive criticism.

The chemistry between Eric and Alvin truly shows how humble and genuine Alvin is actually.
I also like Gordon, but brother, Alvin has a better way of dealing with his team.

Strict and brutally honest, but fair. Probably my favorite of the three judges on masterchef Canada. I think people tend to mistake brutally honest as being rude. Chef Alvin definitely shows the difference. He's tough when he needs to be but his criticism is constructive, and he knows when to crack jokes and keep morale high. Not strike people down and kill their motivation.

Him and Eric really had a great connection. I think they're on par with David with the most inspiring season/story yet, it's almost unreal. Really great motivational stuff!

Really impressive that Jeremy was able to change shirts mid-sentence at 18:47, truly incredible

I don’t see this man as cruel or mean. He’s just to the point and brutally honest. He praises when it’s owed and criticizes when he must. He always gives good advice too.

Alvin: Do you know who I am?
Eric: You're Alvin Leung, you're a chef, you're an engineer, you're living my dream.

And then he nods as if he's saying "you're damn right I am"

I prefer Alvin so much more than Joe. Joe is just rude, Alvin’s criticisms are all legit.

Alvin comes up with the most clever one-liners on the spot. Perfect for TV. How is no one talking about this

Alvin is definitely the Gordon of the trio. He gives great criticism and feedback. He’s passionate about every chef’s success in the kitchen. You can tell he cares and he’s not overly insulting like Joe. He knows how to effectively get his point across. He’s most definitely my favorite judge along side Chef Gordon
