starts at 8:59. 10:51 spectroscopy encodes what we need to know about elements; 12:15 matrix model is more usable; 16:27 interference

16:46 “Particles… Can annihilate each other“ waves don’t annihilate each other. Destructive interference is not destruction. It’s a temporary illusion of destruction.

I love evening tests. Keeps me out of the bars.

17:52 “What is new?“ In general it is considered impolite to use double meaning.

I really liked that camera angle with the bokeh. Not sure if it added anything to the learning but it was beautiful nonetheless

Anyone else thinks this class went way fast because of how enjoyable it was??

The best thing about the Internet is that you can learn from many different people. I started this video and then skipped through, and this guy reminded me of when I had to rely completely the on the assigned book. I scrolled to the comments and at the top and I see people commenting about how he is hard to follow, or say he should teach in a certain way. I just want to post and let M.i.T know that if that want bright minds doing research and studying cutting edge subjects that perfectly fine. but how are we the next generation to take over the work if it not being taught right. This video is evidence that a lot of top schools don't have the best teachers they have great student that will go through hell and high water to understand the subject. Please make it easier on your student and hire people who can teach. and keep the people who are just good for research in the lab away from people where they belong. also a pay cut. why give them a check for teaching if they can't teach? give them a check for being a researcher only!

Electrons in solid entangled such that their spin all are up /down. In Liquid alignment are mixed. In gaseous state spins are untangled. Viscosity may be promotional to ratio entanglement. B-E condensate all entangled electron are either up or Down

2 E= mc squared. And plane
Plane kinetic energy is partially converted into potential energy because of buoyancy in air. What could be the medium in e= mc2 if any involved.vhiggs field or quantum field are possible candidates

I Dont understand 37:22 where Sir Field says that (h over mass of electron multiplied by C) is momentum transferred, this contradicts the first statement he made that the (h over mass of electron multiplied by C) has the dimensions of wavelength! Im confused

just in the last two days I saw a new discovery of a material that changes drastically it's insulation/conductivity properties with a magnetic field. what would cause that to happen?

why is there a delay between E and B field?

It's not clear from the title of the lecture or the intro that this has to do with quantum mechanics - maybe that could be updated? I get notified for MIT OpenCourseWare Youtube videos and usually find time to watch - because they're generally exceptional. But before starting to watch this video I had no idea what "historical background" referred to.

But glad it's quantum mechanics so got lucky this time :)
