Excel Formula - Find the Week Number from any given Date

preview_player
Показать описание
In this video, we use an Excel formula to return the week number of any given date. Just enter a date and the formula returns the week number of that date, from a specified start date.

Excel has a function called WEEKNUM. And although useful, this is limited to finding the week number of a date from the 1st January of that year.

The formula in this video tutorial though will enable you to specify a start date, and we can count how many weeks until another date.

You could even reverse the formula and get a week countdown until a due date or deadline.

Excellent trick, Thank you very much Alan for your kindness in explaining it. You did all the steps calmly, it is wonderful to watch your videos. Keep up the awesome job!

Hi Alan.. good trick. For uneven date sequences, the divide by 7 procedure produces a number with trailing decimals. I see you just formatted to see only the integer portion. You could also wrap the formula with INT() to force only the integer value. Arguably not needed, as formatting does the trick. Thanks and Thumbs up!

Hi. Does this work when dates are spread across several years? I’m looking at planning dates - 03/04/2021 is Week 01, as is 02/04/2022, and so on

I'm looking for a way to get the Week Number and the year on the same cell. For example: 01/07/2019 = 02/2019.
Is that something you can help me with?
