Guys, for your information you do NOT have to use these blocks, you may use dirt, and no glass is needed! The allays don't need to be dancing either, only for the breeding.

I was looking for xp farms on youtube and this is my first ever xp farm in minecraft... all of them were big and looked ugly and looked likle they would take so much effort but this is the farm that I will do it looks good and easy and super efficient

For some reason, when I got the allay in there (which I had to do with a piston btw) it would still hover just high enough over the fire to avoid taking damage. To mitigate this, I put a trapdoor on the underside of the wall block to just nudge the allay downward slightly. Hope this helps anyone else having the same issue.

Make sure to use only smooth stones or wooden planks and not other blocks since the silverfish could infested the block and broke it BTW you can also use dirt

How do you stop the allys from dying/despawning. We have one on our server and it breaks at least once a day when the allys despawn. We've tried naming them, giving them something to hold, nothing seems to work.

I did exactly this and mine do not take damage. It’s like they aren’t close to the fire. I used a piston to push them down and they took damage but then they died. So idk what I am doing wrong.
