I had an encounter with a humpback whale and her calf while in a zodiac in Antarctica. The female whale emerged from the water right next to our boat surprising myself and the driver . The mother and her calf just stared into my eyes and we quietly looked at each other for several minutes before she and her calf ever so gently submerged under our boat giving the boat just a very gentle rock . This was the best moment of my life connecting with these beautiful intelligent creatures that have been hunted by us, yet show us mercy and love and no aggression. Humans have lot to learn from whales .

My brother and I had an encounter with a dolphin on Padre Island in South Texas at the Mansfield cut.. decades ago...basically this dolphin played with my brother and myself for about 10 minutes or so.. no doubt in my mind these animals are intelligent

So beautiful watching this. Whales like Dolphins can sense when there's danger nearby hence why they usual things like this. That whale knew a shark was close by so helped that woman out of imminent danger.
