Does it have a 1 hr setting? That’s what always use in my older Maytag dishwasher ? I would not want to live without it.

I had this exact same model only 13 years old. It still worked great but the racks deteriorated and the tines were breaking off so when half were gone I called Maytag to order new ones. The bottom rack is over $500.00 and the bottom top rack is unavailable so I was out of luck. I like Maytag in spite of them not keeping up with replacement parts so I ordered the same one MDB 8959…1/13/24. When the dishwasher is done the next morning we open it and the walls of the interior are soaked and dripping water. I figured it was my fault so the next load I used heated water and heated drying.
The walls are soaked and the bottom of the dishes are full of water!!!! Did I get a lemon? It’s no wonder that they are all rusting!! I’m calling Maytag to find out what the story is. I don’t want a wet undrying dishwasher. Same number, not the same quality. 😢

how long do the cycles take? I'm hearing that new machines run for hours. How loud is the machine?

I'm surprised you dont put a little prewash powder/liquid and it still tackled those eggs no problem. I have a new dishwasher to replace my old GE that has given up the ghost. I can't wait.

I need a new dishwasher to replace a 2019 Whirlpool that came with the house and it’s already broken. I saw this Maytag but as it is getting rusty I am now concerned about it. Did you reach out to Maytag about it? The racks from my Whirlpool have rust on it. So annoying.

That sucks that there is rust in the front. Stainless steel shouldn’t rust I thought.

ALERT!

The real filter for the water in this washer is under the washer, bolted to a pump motor. You have to pull out the entire dishwasher to get to it, and its super delicate and failed on our washer after 4 years of use. We scrape our dishes, and rarely have anything that even gets caught in that little removable basket under the lower washer arm.

It would be a $400+ service call to replace that filter unit under the washer if you call a pro. Right now I am scouring YouTube because I am in the middle of trying to fix this machine myself and save a bunch of money. Its not easy but it appears possible.
