Problem isn't spending, can't make enough money, I don't buy shit and still don't have nothing

The broke cycle is a real thing😂 been freelance for nearly 8 years and almost like clockwork would go from rags to riches back to rags. As you progress on your career and work on bigger things you tell yourself “it can’t happen again this is it”. The problem with being creative is you find creative ways to spend that money 😂😂 enjoyed the video and hearing another creative having a similar experience is always helpful

What I've learnt over the years.

1)Automate your bills and investments - putting your money into an isa early on in life generates wealth. If you have kids, do this the day they are born even if it's like 20 bucks a month.

2) take advantage of your pensions. Not sure it's the same in the States but getting a percentage paid in by your employer and getting a tax break is so powerful early on.

3) Only now do you spend on yourself. Don't try keep up with the jones's.

4) having a life partner that supports you and has a career/steady income is a force multiplier. If you don't have that, don't be embarrassed to stay with parents when you are young and when older, house share with people you trust.

4) Be kind to yourself. We live in an age where a lot of us are paying 30-40% of our paychecks on rent, inflation is killing expenditure. If you are thinking about finances and taking the previous baby steps you are miles ahead of a lot of people.

I was literally just saying to myself I need to work on my money spending habits bc they get worse whenever I’m lenient on it. To see a creator I highly enjoy talk about money to this extent definitely is the icing on the cake to where I need to focus on it. Thank you bro genuinely.

Needed to hear this dude. Often feel like I am being gaslit by my peers or others around me who aren't in freelance/creative fields because they just don't understand the struggle of the ups and downs of cashflow (even when you're making good money). Pair that with the insane cost of living in places like Orange County where I live and its easy to feel like I am the only one feeling what you described in this video. Thanks for the transparency and vulnerability. I think that there would be a lot less shame and defensiveness around money if more people were open about it like you were in this video. Been a long time fan, keep up the videos like this.

Wow I'm in Florida and we're kind of in the middle of a hurricane 😓But I was literally in the middle of watching your "weeks worth of content in 3hrs" video then the power went out and when I restart my pc... YOU POSTED THIS! 🙌

Thanks for sharing this! Money is such a hard thing to talk about, and I am forever trying to wrap my mind around my own money situation and figure out what its actually all for lol. Will definitely check those books out.

This whole video was amazing, but surprisingly enough, the most important part was at the very end when you said that you still feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, you shot multiple takes and you still hate it by the end.

This coming from someone with half a million subs is super motivating and eye opening.

I would love a video going more in depth into this subject. 🙂

Hearing about financial knowledge from a creative is one of the best things that happened this morning. I woke up digging for financial advise on Youtube and after two watches i came across your video and it is enlightening

This was great. I’ve read the books you mentioned and still find myself struggling with these concepts sometimes. Thanks for making this video. It helped re direct my thinking and I’m sure it will for others as well.
