I don't have one of these, I've been getting by just using a jig and a 30mm collar. It's a bit harder to set up though as you have to judge how far in to set the jig. I might have to get one of these as it does get tedious moving the jig in small increments and resetting the clamps until I get it where I want it

Nice and simple. I do wonder if CA glue with some blue tape would be enough to hold the jig in place? Then, if the bench isn't narrow enough to be able to clamp on all sides, it could still be held in place with glue. Then tear the tape off when done, to leave no residue. Just a thought.

I make a lot of childrens toys using patterns... for me, carpet tape is the best method for patterns... most of my cuts are outside, tear-out was a constant problem... 2015, I started using Whiteside carbide Spiral Flush Trim bits, with excellent results... I use both the 1/2" and 1/4" often and they're still sharp... hope this helps...

I made my pattern, but for some reason the hole was larger on one side. Then it was larger on 2 sides. How is that even possible. We nailed the router pattern blocks in place... Got any ideas.

Why not just cut the piece out by making a couple of passes, each one deeper than the previous, to remove the waste? Creates a lot of dust if you go back and forth (plus time and wear on the bit) just to remove a 4" square piece of wood. Plus, when you're through, you'll have an almost 4" square piece of waste wood to use down the road. Does this not make more sense or am I missing something?
