At the age of 80, a reasonably fit mentally and physically I watch these interviews and find it interesting to note that regardless of where one lives, life progresses at the pace one chooses or how we’re swept away by circumstances. However, the truth is that as we age we learn what we should have taken notice of earlier. I also feel that older people conversing with younger ones is a positive way to learn how to look at life.

You nailed it. Back in the 1950's I noticed all the depressed, angry looking Americans adults around me that were always chasing money in a attempt to survive, be happy. I knew, I didn't want to be anything like them as a adult. So, I took many personal risks, traveling the world, to find the perfect country, lifestyle for ME! Mission Accomplished!
Don't follow the crowd, they are always wrong!

I found being grateful brings happiness. Just be grateful!

This is helpful because I’m in a similar predicament. School and work took me out of poverty and I will never forget that. But now it’s time to truly take ownership of my life. Life is way too short.

I’m 60 years old and it took me about 57 of those to start saying “no” to others and “yes” to myself. Always find your happiness first.
I really love the video you do, keep up the inspiring work 💚

I turned down a $90, 000 job because I knew I'd be miserable. Part of me worry I made a mistake but I am filled with so much passion in my current one and many people rely on me.

I'm from Singapore.
I always say I'm not married to the company. Just a workplace.
It's true to go wherever your passion is.
However, some time in your life, in order to reach there, you need to start somewhere for life experiences.
Good luck to everyone.

I went in to the US army to be a nurse...but I became a combat medic in special forces...then the Iraq war started I was in the combat zone seeing crazy stuff....I got out as a RN...and pursued different careers I thought I was going to find it...but I enjoyed them for I was experiencing doing so many things...Being a equine Vet tech was cool for I have horses....then a relative who is a Surgeon got me to go to Med school at his old university in Italy they take a small percentage of people but he had pull so I studied hard for a year went, and now I'm a Cardiologist. It's funny when your a Physician people think you were raised to be a DR. from a child...I show colleagues of mine pics of me jumping out of planes and under fire in a war zone...needless to say when something gets really bad on the floor They call me in...I tell them everything in the civilian world is so much more relaxed then in combat...Looking back the most important thing I believe in life is Life is best shared by two with the one you love....and who wants to get old and look back and see you haven't done the computers away and social media and get out there....and also help people along the up those frequent flyer miles on the way to heaven.

It's never too late to start over. I finished my masters degree and worked in a field that i HATED. Until one day i was like..nope. I'm done. So I started all over. I'm SO happy i made that decision even though everyone was against me. They're not the ones living your life & suffering. Remember that.
P.S: I'm 3 months away from graduating Vet School 💃

I got a job offer making $63, 000/year that I declined at the age of 23.

About a year later I got another job offer where I could make even more.

But I am sticking to running my own business, because I know that regardless of the money, this is what makes me most happy.

I always knew I wanted as may children as humanly possible as a little girl, because my mom was Soo fantastic. Had them early, THEN STARTED MY CAREER, eight grand kids later, I thank the LORD every day that I did what made me happiest, first!!

Hearing this makes me tear up. What you say makes a lot of sense but looking back on my life I did not have the confidence to do what you did due to controlling/authoritarian upbringing. And no internet made my resources limited. I'm happy that you have folks that encourage their children rather than discourage.

The minute you said Montréal, I hit like. ♡ Canadians are so respectful. Québécois have something European, unique.
Followed by a profound message humbly delivered: then I hit subscribe. 😊

This is a huge problem for people. Going to a job that you don't like just brings stress and faster aging. Choose your job, don't let your job Choose You.

“Try not to focus on the one thing that you want, but on the outcome that you’re looking for”

So profound! Figure out what kind of a life do you want to live and build your career around that vision👌🏾

Too many people have been deceived by the dollar. They have convinced themselves of these terms- “livable wage, ” “financial freedom, ” “living income.” All these terms distract from the real focus of your life, and none of it includes excess droves of wealth. People expect everything for the most minimal amount of work. Everyone wants to get by and have everything without having to work.
I tell you, the things you say to yourself you want, you do not want. I tell you, the things you are least searching for, are those that you will weep for one day. If your belly is satiated and you may have a bed to rest your head on, you have all that you need in your life. Search not for what others have, or what others want, but look into the interior to find what _you_ want. And ask yourself, what you really are, and if you are the person you want to be.
We often look to take, and take more, when we should be looking for ways to give, and give some more. The antidote to our modern age is to assume an unwillingness to accept the notions that we must “be” something in order to _be_ someone. You need not to prove yourself to God for you to be human in the eyes of creation.

I'm just happy to see people doing this. The realization. Everything. Thank you. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
