I had a tough childhood - I became successful later in life but I have always been bitter about it, I’ve never been able to shake it and I have been alone and lonely all my life and I think I always will be

What does success even mean? I had a rough start, now I'm financially struggling, but I'm able to pay my rent, be creative and I'm confident in my relationships both with friends and family and I'm proud of myself despite the fact that I have never been able to achieve the career fantasies I had/have due to having a seizure disorder.

I'd like to add that I think that people can only become as love-driven, as they can afford stopping to be fear-driven.

Offer material and emotional safety to someone who doesn't have it, and look at what happens naturally to them over time. ☺️

Btw, yesterday there was an interesting video on TikTok, of a mental health specialized social worker, who was saying that most autistic and ADHD kids she was in charge of, were stuck in "fight or flight" (fear, adrenaline) mode all the time, and that once they managed to make them feel really safe, they were much calmer. 😊

Because it's literally several hundreds of millions trying, of course some will make it. Even if odds are some will always make it, even if just out of pure luck.
That was not a smart question to start the video with.

All tough childhoods are not equal. All wounds do not have the same impact. The impact of a wound might depend on the age of a child at the onset of the wound and duration.

The narrator was unfortunate in that his biological mother chose to prioritize her life over her responsibilities to him as the one who brought him into this world abandoning him when he was a completely helpless newborn to a complete uncertain fate. It takes a very selfish and cruel heart to do that to your own child. But he had a relatively stable home from a few months old up to 12 years old. There must have some emotional damages during his stay in his foster home especially from some unexplained unkind behaviors from his foster parents before they put him back into the foster system. But stable nonetheless. If he was bouncing from place to place before he was eight that might have been a different story for him psychologically because wounds of abandonment cut deeper when younger and might have devastating psychological damages that hinder a child's healthy integration into a society.

The answer is simple. Dont dwell in the past. Forgive and forget as much as possible. Dont be bitter and twisted. Smile, be kind to others and be happy. And yes, succeess will come to you relatively easily.

Have I also made it as an author and a poet? Although my family still does not support any of my artistic abilities they have not thwarted them as much as they could’ve or would’ve if I been born as a girl in Texas or Afghanistan.

Perhaps I’ve gone as high as I can go as a human being, so there’s no reason for me to reincarnate. I would especially regret coming back as a girl in Texas or Afghanistan where my creativity and spirituality would be condemned or because of my independence and individuality I would be ostracized. Or the simple-minded majority may, like a mob, do something worse.
