Is Vancouver the most expensive city in the world?

While Vancouver is expensive to other Canadian cities, relative to other major international cities on the global stage, we only rank at around the middle of the pack.

Even in terms of relative affordability, many cities in europe and asia are far, far less affordable.

Another thing to mention is that it's very possible to buy in a different place from where you earn. So places with low average income will tend to have higher price-to-income ratio because many people from the outside, earning their income somewhere else, will be able to buy there. I think would be cool to see that same map but with absolute numbers in terms of housing cost, instead of using the ratio.

Maybe the average annual wage in those Chinese cities mentioned is skewed low by factory workers, or other low paid jobs.

further proof vancouver does not (yet) belong in the same discussion as other "world class cities", michelin star restaurants, we only have a few 1-star restaurants and it was just added this year
