Complex Numbers – Vector Problems for HSC Assessment and Exam Preparation

In this video, I will demonstrate how to answer vector problems under the complex number topic using sample exam questions under the Extension 2 Maths (4U) course. Examples include:
• Vector addition and subtraction in the context of a parallelogram
• Geometric effect of multiplying and dividing a complex number by another complex number in the modulus and argument form
• Studying the effects of anticlockwise and clockwise rotation of vectors and how to achieve the result algebraically
• General problems including various trigonometry, geometry and coordinate geometry techniques
As this is the first year implementation of the new Maths syllabus in NSW for 2020 HSC students, I have created this “Study with Me” series to help students prepare for the upcoming HSC Assessments.
This is relevant for Year 12 students preparing for HSC Maths Extension 2 for 2020 and onwards.
