Donald didn’t have to say anything. It’s pretty chilling actually

He was very frank the with 4 letter word he said, to you over the phone. But yet he allowed you to license his music for the doc. You’re very lucky.

Naw Don Fagan is that F in Dude! I think he was looking at it like “Yo why you trying too play me” I’m Him respect it as such and don’t put me or my music in a box BS with a name like Yacht Rock! But at the same time it would of been nice for him to tell his side of the story so he could narrate what he was feeling when he was coming up with those Melodic Chops or Unmatched Lyrics because the legacy will live on but the story will never get told for people who want to know.

Its BS. He made a ton of $ off the licenses for the songs. So scripted.

It's not a character, Donald makes jazz and rock music, and he's smart enough to see that this documentary isn't genuine. It's cherry picking certain examples from artists' catalogs to synthesize some sort of narrative. The term yacht rock is a bit insulting too as it implies some class-based appeal that simply isn't a reality. It's music that appeals to anyone, you can be as poor as Charlie Freak and love the rich complexity and relaxing jazz elements of Steely Dan.

It definitely played like a scripted bit to me. Funny either way
