The irony is (for me) watching huge haul videos actually don't make me want to shop more cause when someone in hauling 3 foundations, 2 blushes, 4 eye shadow palettes, etc in the same video when a month before they did the same thing, I just think "how in the hell can anyone use all of that before it goes bad?" Love this video.

I unsubscribed to a lot of beauty gurus. All they do is shop and do haul videos. I've bought so much useless shit because of YouTube.

CANNOT applaud your video and your message enough! I saw a comment on one of the big beauty gurus "How are all these beauty gurus so happy and pretty with all their stuff and hot boyfriends, etc." It made me sad, knowing that some younger girls will watch Youtube and think that to be happy, one must always purchase things. It's something we all struggle with, but I commend you on being honest and bringing about a great message. My biggest tip for myself to avoid shopping is to save it for the future and for travel! Please continue with your videos. They are well-thought out and convey the right things.

Great points! I am such a spender & for years I was enabled by youtube to spend on makeup but I noticed my friends going on beautiful holidays & buying property so this year (or month to be precise) I sobered up & writing down goals that i want to achieve by the end of the year which means stop buying more & more makeup. Besides 1 item of makeup lasts aaaages, atleast 6months for me! Wish i wisened up earlier but i guess better late than never. Thank u for such an honest & inspiring video xx am a new subbie x

I loved this video. I noticed I might be a shopping addict. I don't buy a lot but I waste a lot of time thinking about what to buy lately and whether i should go to the mall instead of doing something else with my free time. It hurts the quality of my sleep, thank god the nearest mall is far away but even so I drift through local stores, pretending I will find something I need for summer even if winter sales is not finished yet. I fought the urge to go to the mall 3 times already this morning. So now I am doing my wardrobe inventory and checking what I have too much and what I actually really, truly need. Also I did some research on fast fashion imprint on our planet and local workers and it is saddest thing in our modern world not to care about where clothing and food comes from.

My favorite YouTuber hands down! Everything you said is true. We don't NEED all the beauty products we buy. I try to now look at items before I buy them and say do I NEED or WANT this? There is a difference. Most of the time they are WANTS not NEEDS. Keep these videos coming. Thank you.

You are absolutely right, I was thinking about why I have the urge to buy, and I know why. Shopping makes me feel good in the midst of my problems, but is not the solution to it. You confirm what I have been thinking and will from now on I'll try to focus on things that are more important than material things, like trying to solve my problems in a more constructive way. it's nice to have things but not to obsess about them. Omg!!! You are so right! The pretty Chanel boxes I have in my room (from buying makeup online) just make me want to buy MORE makeup just to get MORE boxes! It's ridiculous. I'm really trying to purge and declutter my makeup but it's so damn hard. I have a capsule wardrobe that I love and was so easy to assemble, and I don't understand why I can't do the same for makeup. I don't even use eyeshadows or blushes or bronzers, but I cant seem to stop buying mascaras, foundation/ concealers or red lipsticks. I have so many and still feel very unsatisfied with it :( you're also right about the haul videos. They definitely do not help.

Wow!!! I really NEEDED this!! You get it and now I understand it! This is so true - it’s like a trap that keeps circling and I don’t know where to hit the stop button! Hopefully I can get myself together. I’ve been purging and decluttering but it doesn’t help when I buy new and refill with different things - I just want to stop. Why does that feel so hard - who am I trying to impress?? I don’t get it.
