Im sure you were doing clearance holes. A pilot hole is smaller and is drilled into the second piece of wood. The clearance hole allows the screw to be pushed through the first piece and the pilot hole is the same size as the screw minus the thread and is drilled into the second piece. This allows the first piece of wood to be pulled perfectly upto the second.

I think it would be far better using a Kant rail or Arris rail

0:43 Second fix nails? No wonder the fella is having to glue them on. The boards will just pull off.

Adhesive? Really 😂, no need for 4 nails in each timber either. One nail will do. Allows for the timber to move 🤦🏽‍♂️ mr and mrs cowboys

BODGE JOB 😂 first you don't need adhesive nor 4 nails per arris rail if done properly, putting 4 nails at the top makes it so you cant adjust the bottom if its out of line. Second you've joined the Harris rails half way through the bay instead of cutting them to the middle of each post which gives a lot less strength. Third you should put a gravel board at the bottom stopping the boards from rotting and fourth you haven't used a spacer to keep the panels spaced correctly you've just eyed it. Thats just off watching once without actually looking for faults lol. Rating 3/10
