Olive oil doesn't remove the wax. It softens it and usually shifts the wax around in the ear. It is best removed by micro suction.

What my doctor said was, put olive oil in ear for 5 mins each side for a week (This softens it up) preferably slightly comfortably warm. Then after a week he used a plastic syringe to pump comfortable warm water into ear and it drained out.

So I just leave the oil there? Should I tilt my head the opposite direction and remove the oil after few minutes?
