A Bible that is both sword and shield.

Wouldn't be kinda cool to go back and live like the 1600's time or Bible time? No gadgets. Just talking with each other. I think it would. I'm just 21 years old and I love that time. I love your video. That Bible is big. I got the small 1611 Bible. I enjoy it. God bless you.

Just this month, I ordered and received this 1611 King James Bible from GreatSite.com and it's even MORE IMPRESSIVE when you hold it in your hands.  The shipping weight is 26 pounds.  If you continue to handle it that way, you're gonna BREAK THE BINDING!

I just found John 17 :12 also has a capital N in Name in 1611...thanks for the heads up on the cap.N scenario ...I am in transition to using a 1611 that I just received from greatsite last week as my daily Bible ....there's many words with two spellings such as word and worde and son and sonne and I just discovered the 1611 has four ways of spelling been, been beene, bene, and bin ...it's definitely done with purpose and I see a pattern the more I dig...thanks for the videos preacher.. I'm just a broke down ol roofer who found Jesus Christ near the end of my rope under a beam in a basement seven years ago ..he made himself known to me and impacted my soul with four words " the Bible is True " and I became a believer and repented

That Bible is a true brick.

I can't think of any modern text blocks still in print with the chapter headings except for the Clarendon (Oxford/Allan) and the Westminster (TBS/Schuyler).

2 Esdras 7:28
The Apocrypha is so undervalued.

The people back in the 1600's, must've been tall as heck.

I purchased the 400th Anniversary version involving Gordon Campbell, published by Oxford Press. The Publishers changed the lettering to roman font making it easier to read. I admit at first I did not like the size of the bible and had trouble with the roman numerals. Seven months later months later I love it. I can place all sorts of cross references and notes in the margins. The first edition has a way about it as the more you read it the easier it is to make cross references between Old and New Testament. I won't use any other bible.
Having never heard of GREASITE I checked it out. In my opinion they have a very important paragraph. As you scroll down you come to a drop down entitled: The Shocking History of the 1611 King James Bible. Thank you for the video.

Awesome addition to your collection! I have been stuck between ordering this version bound in imitation leather and the more expensive genuine leather bound version. Having handled this more affordable imitation leather version by hand, do you suspect that it will hold up over time or do you believe it is at risk of cracking, peeling, or chipping as many cheaper faux leather bibles tend to do as they age?

Oh wow😮
I must secure my own copy of that 1611 replica. I am growing my collection of KJV Bibles. I think having that one would be the centerpiece of the collection. It would also eliminate my need to buy fitness equipment 😂
I like big Bibles and I cannot lie.

With that illustration of the lion and the unicorn that says "honi soit qui mal y pense" and "Dieu et mon droit", a small but similar illustration (English coat of arms) is still on the copyright page of Cambridge KJVs.
