Gotta love the white lab coats. 100% accurate depiction of hands-on engineering work.

How does the Loctite know the difference between Axial shear and Rotational Shear?  Does it contain nanobots?

How to measure the retaining force when i apply for spindle bearing?

I accidentally added Loctite 660 (Quick Metal) instead of grease to the rear bearing (ball bearing) on a motorcycle.
The bearing still has mostly grease that was already in the bearing, I just topped it off with the 660.
The loctite tube and my tube of molybdenum grease are similar and just failed to read the label to be sure.
It would be a major chore to redo the bearing, so
QUESTION: is it catastrophic to use 660 instead of wheel bearing grease or it might be okay for a while?

Do any of these wick? I want to lock a sealed one-way bearing by adding the compound to the edge of where the steel parts mate. I thought about 3 spot welds.

What loctite is best for locking in a shear pin into a hole that has widened? The hole has widened about 2mm This is to hold an electric motor prop with high torque.
I would also like to bang it out fairly easily with standard garage tools. My first attempt is with 263 (awaiting the full cure atm) but I also have 660. Would 660 bang out okay, or is this more permanent?

What loctite should I use on my Secks Swing? My boyfriend said blue because he is a democrat and it will resist the oil lubes we use in our secks room. I am a big guy and don't want to crush him if something breaks on the swing.

i really don't see how it isn't shear during rotation, i guess you don't need to lock a lot so it is ok

This stuff works awesome. We use it on our auger sleeves and when it cures it’s stuck! Only way to get it off is cut a slice through sleeve with a grinder then take a chisel and give it a hell of a smack.

All forces on a seal like that are going to be sheer.

And I thought I knew all about loctite!

Whether you torque it or pull it, it is still shear force on the interface. What a bunch of B.S.
