In rust we trust. God's own threadlocker

I never thought of using Loctite Blue to prevent corrosion between fasteners! What a brilliant idea.

All I wanted to learn was how to apply this so my kitchen faucet handle doesn't loosen up and these two made this a lot of fun to watch.

Us unlearned millennials & generation Z kids need these videos.

Very entertaining and informative! Great video! Thank you!

Not much to learn here. I was looking for a tutorial on the different types of "Locktite" and their applications.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks 😊👍There is a video on the project farm channel that "Likers" of this video might find useful.

From watching this video I learned that without Loctite on a rusty bolt you will likely ruin the fastener, your socket wrench, and the table that the test fixture was attached to. Thus proving that Loctite will save you a lot of money!

Stopped the screws from falling out the bottom of my 12 year old MacBook Pro. Great stuff.

The moment I seen people the white jackets I knew I was listening to experts in their field...

When a sales guy does something with an engineer - the engineer at some point or another usually gets a good laugh out of the typical sales guy's "over the top"-goofiness.
In this clip to be witnessed at 3:01

Loctite 204 how do apply in the thread?

@Loctite North America
First off, I love LOKTITE Blue 242.
It does a phenomenal of job holding fasteners were I put them, even when there are ridiculous vibration loads trying to shake everything apart. I can take it apart later with just a little bit of extra grunt, and not a torch.

It is very challenging for people who know how and when something works to explain it to someone who doesn't. I think you were trying to let it show for itself, but clearly you could make a video to show where and when to use it. Most people don't actually read instructions, and even fewer will call the 800 number.

He should have said, " Loc-Tite blue is made to increase the initial holding torque of a fastener, and as a side benefit, since it keeps the threads clean, the torque to break it free will be same, even if the fastener is exposed to harsh elements. You won't need an eight foot breaker bar, or a torch, to take off that rusty 1/2 inch bolt, even if the bolt is underneath your snow plow."

A top down view of a Beam torque wrench, with slow motion at break point would have been very effective and everyone loves slow-mo.

An graphical overlay of of the breaking torque would demonstrate how much difference it makes.

@Gary Anderson
Think of Blue LokTite 242, as a drop of glue to keep the nut from vibrating off when you don't want it to, but still breakable enough to take it off when you do. Blue is the most practical for most uses since you don't need a torch to break it loose.
There are other products that prevent rusting threads such as anti-seize with copper, aluminum, nickel, graphite, or teflon, if you only want to prevent the threads from seizing up.

So it stops it from loosening on its own but we can still tighten and loosen it ourselves after?

Can you use Red Loctite 243 on brass nuts & bolts ??? 😮

Is is possible to remove LOCTITE 243 residue from painted surface?
I used Loctite 243 for the screws to attach black painted bar ends weights to the handlebars of my motorcycle. Unfortunately, I had some Loctite residue on my hands during assembly, which left some ugly fingerprints on the shiny black paint of the new bar end weights.
Is it possible to remove the loctite residue from the bar end weights somehow without damaging the paint? Maybe with chemicals, heat or buffing?

what's the difference between this 243 and 242???

If I use a low strength loctite like 222 instead of silver or copper anti-seize would it affect a fasteners torque specification.
