Six months after the Battle of Geonosis, with the Clone Wars ravaging the galaxy, Jedi Master Mace Windu returned to his homeworld of Haruun Kal to find his missing former Padawan, Depa Billaba. Upon arrival, he faced immediate resistance, enduring two ambushes before making contact with a team sent by Depa. Haruun Kal was a living battlefield, its jungle pulsing with danger, pushing Windu and his companions to their physical and mental limits. When Mace finally found Depa, she had been consumed by darkness, leading a brutal militia. By her side was Kar Vastor, a warrior who commanded the jungle like an extension of his power. But in their brutal showdown, Windu confronted not only Vastor but the dark side itself. Yet Mace’s victory was bittersweet. Depa, consumed with anger, challenged her former master. During their duel, Depa fell into a coma, broken and lost to the dark side. As Windu returned her to Coruscant, he was haunted by a vision of the Jedi’s fall - a reminder of the darkness creeping ever closer to the Jedi Order.
