'We need more robust enforcement': Ex-immigration minister criticises 'two-tier policing' | LBC

Robert Jenrick defends his comments about 'immediately arresting' any protesters shouting 'Allahu Akbar', emphasising to Tom Swarbrick that he believes there have been instances of 'two-tier policing' recently.

The Tory leadership candidate accused police of treating far-right marches and violence more harshly than the pro-Palestinian demonstrations that started following the Israel-Gaza war in October last year.

But speaking Tom, Jenrick says: 'Police have been too quick to put community relations above robust enforcement of the law.'

He adds: 'It was wrong that an individual on Oxford Street calling for Jihad, was justified by police as a legitimate expression.'

The damage inflicted on this country by Jenrick & his cronies must never be forgotten. These people have no shame.

I really hope "honest Bob" becomes Tory leader. It should see them safely out of power for a generation.

Why is the guy who no longer has his ministerial job because his party was a failure talking about his experiences like he's an expert? He was a failure. The only thing to learn from his experience is what NOT to do.

They had 14 years and want to lecture others?

This is the same guy who had cartoon murals painted over at children’s asylum centres. Absolutely zero compassion. Him being a MP makes this country a worse place.

Why did Robert Jenrick not answer the question of the actual cost of the Rwanda plan?
Imagine claiming that another person is lying about figures and costs yet Robert wouldn't answer the question 🤔

No one seems to be talking about what the Tories did when the 2011 riots happened and the hundreds they imprisoned straight away! One bloke was jailed for stealing a bottle of water ! And there was no talking about two tier policing? Morons have such selective memories!

If I were a Tory like this character, with all the hate and division they've stoked, I'd wear a paper bag over my head in shame for the next ten years

Isn't he the guy that helped a property developer dodge millions in taxes when he was housing minister?

There is no two-tier policing - stop accepting the premise.

On one hand you have pro-Palestinian/BLM/etc protests that were pre-dominantely peaceful and had notified the police beforehand and had approval to march.

On the other hand you have anti-immigrant rallies that are pre-dominantely violent and had not informed the police let alone received approval to march.

Those are wildly different circumstances.

Everytime you ask a question it's "but illegal migration"

Jesus, Swarbrick was useless holding this guy's feet to the fire. What a waste of an interview.

To send people to Rwanda, we would have to leave international treaties. Then Rwanda said they would leave the scheme since it breaks international laws. Rwanda pulled a blinder on the torys

One of the architects of the disaster we're in right now. He has NO right to talk like he's not been one of the main causes.
