It's so much worse in the US because most of the city structure REQUIRES you to own a car - spread out with tons of stroads, abysmal-to-no public transportation, generally unsafe public streets when walking or cycling (even in the daytime) - which means these car dealerships can finance your life away on a single soon-to-be worthless vehicle because you basically can't say no to having a car.

$1k car payment is definitely worth it for the right car, as for me it was a GTR, worth every penny, thankfully it's paid off & it appreciated by $22k 😎

$1000 car payments are crazy. I know rates are high right now and all that, but still. My house payment is $610. It's about $1100 after including taxes and insurance. I'd have to live in my car if I was paying $1000 per month on it.

What i heard from this is that I can allow myself to buy a tri-motor cybertruck through financing as long as im putting away HALF of what im currently putting away (i save about $2k/mo on a 106k/yr salary). Thanks for the permission!

Its all relative. Thats a lot compared to what cars cost 10 years ago. Is it still a lot if you make 15k per month ? You have to reference it to something. P.S I dont have a 1k car note.
