Dislike or hate is a big difference. If I have never been there, I cant say anything. I dont like some people or politics, but going for a country, thats not fair.

Yeah, dislike and hate are indeed two very different things. However, if you go around asking if someone hates another country, they'd probably not say anything :D Hate is such a strong word.

I do not dislike or hate any inhabitants of any country, but there are several countries I would be hesitant to visit because of their government or politics

As a Norwegian, I don't get the impression that anyone here actually dislikes the US as a country, but some of our mainstream media outlets are very, very left-leaning and are more than willing to jump on the bandwagon of making Trump look worse than he actually is, for instance. The same media outlets also paint the US as quite racist, making incidents of police brutality and whatnot seem far more frequent and normalized than I assume they are.

As a result, some people, and particularly the youngest, most impressionable people here, have quite extreme views on Trump and everything related to right-leaning politics in the US, without actually understanding any of it or being able to elaborate on or articulate their views. It almost seems trendy among young people here these days, to publicly say something negative about Trump as a way of establishing the perception that they oppose/distance themselves from him and what he stands for.

I think it's a bit silly, but that's just the power of information control. I've never been a big fan of Trump, personally, but I think it's quite absurd how far some people are willing to go in order to make him seem like he's the root of all evil, and for some reason, VG (who would ideally take a neutral stance on everything related to politics as our largest, online news provider) seem to be very unrestrained in their propaganda mission against Trump and his administration.

They are not above publishing edited snippets of Trump interviews that take his words out of context, or even manufacturing controversy about him for the sake of keeping their momentum going. Sometimes it almost makes me sympathize with him. He may be a flawed person with some questionable views and a dishonest character that hides behind a veil of being direct and truthful, but I think you can make that argument about every US politician. The primary difference between them is public perception, and the typical perception of Trump here is that he's an evil, racist, tyrant 😅
