Don't worry. Apple took special care about the longevity.
They made the display connector break often instead of the hinge.

Louis Rossmann debunked that hinge. One of the times it wasn't a single piece of aluminium but 2 glued together, another time the cable breaks.

I’m still using a 2012 MBP, and a 2015 MBP, I just replaced the battery in the 2015 for $65 using the ifixit kit, took about an hour, thing still runs awesome and lasts all day.

Happened on my ASUS laptop. Drilled a hole throught the hinge and the laptop lid and bolted them together. Bought a new screen bezel. Job done.

I got an hp, mid tier latopt.
It had metal hinges, and was aluminum case (or some sort of metal)
It broke after a year.
Opend it out, turns out it was metal screwed to a plastic bracket that gas glued to metal.

Never again, hp.

Apple just sells you a new one every time you take it for repairs😂

Apple is designed to fail on other level, like high voltage pins will be right next to pins that go directly to CPU, and minor dust particles sometimes causes shot to positive. So a broke hinge won't kill your laptop, like Mac can.

I had a 2016ish Hp Spectre 2-1 and never really had problems with the hinges, but getting a MacBook a couple years I can say that it definitely feels way better and safer to open and close

this happens more often for people who lift their screens from the sides instead of from the center

I had a Dell and the hinges completely snapped off. When I got my MacBook 7 years ago, this was the most important thing to me!

Literally every HP business class laptop is made from milled aluminum...

This is such a good view on this issue! Design determines longevity, not materials.

ThinkPads won't get this issue, mine is 8 years old and not a single problem (well the case I think isn't metal, but you get the point)

Had laptops all my life from HP, Lenovo, Dell, IBM (before Lenovo), Apple, Asus and many more. Never ever had a single hinge failure even on the crappy low end laptops, and I like to use every machine until destruction. Maybe I was just lucky.

HP and Lenovo are notorious for hinge failure.

Dell and Apple, on the other hand, have hinges that last for years.

So there was a time when the greatest technician that's ever lived didn't fill the video with jokes about our moms and how bad our life is??
