Synthetic Everything: The Future of Social Media, AI & VR?

In the future of digital media, more and more synthetic realities are being created. For many 13-year-old girls on Instagram, theri reality is shaped by 'influencers', leading to a manufactured, artificial perception of the world. Artificial intelligence is now increasingly used to quickly produce synthetic (or indeed, hybrid) content, but the authenticity and quality of such creations is tilting towards #botshit While AI can often mimic emotions, true creativity and emotional depth are still unmatched by machines, leaving concerns about the future standard of content and media production.
