He lost an entire dog's worth of coat and still looks fluffy. Impressive.

His head tilt in the after photo sent me over the edge and into a laughing attack.
the way he's just looking at you like "haha- oops?"
I love it lolololol

Well, if nothing else, it looks like you've got a good start on building your own Lapphund.

I grew up surrounded by Finnish lapphunds, and let me tell you, they are the kindest dogs you'll ever meet. They would never hurt a fly, they're super intelligent, and just all-around pleasant in every single way. 10/10

A dog giving kisses during grooming is something to definitely fall in love with.

Such a well behaved boy(especially for being a young herding dog), whoever trained him deserves a shout out. I bet he felt much better after dropping basically a quarter of his fur.

Thanks to this video, I was able to identify my family's dog! We've had her since 2015 and were never 100% sure what breed she was. While I don't think both her parents were Lapphunds, I believe one of them was because she looks almost IDENTICAL to Ilo. That and every time my mom would brush her, she would shed off enough fur to make a second dog!

This baby clearly consists of 90% fur and 10% cutie face.

Let's be honest, anyone around him is going to be happy, so his name makes perfect sense

Lapphunds are excellent dogs and like you said, they're very friendly and loyal. The fur is a breed trait because Lappland is a really cold place where the sun doesn't rise for several months during winter and since these dogs herd reindeer, they need warmth. Source: I'm a Finn.

Ilo just looks like pure happiness. I’d probably have an allergy attack if I got in a 10 foot radius of any room he’s been in, but I’d risk it for the floof

I have a finnish lapphund. When we got to our vaccinating appointment the doctor asked me: "did you resently bathe him?" I answered "yes, for the first time in five years about two months ago, because he started to smell like a dog". The doctor was amused and said that she imagined that my boy was washed yesterday. That is just how fancy and fresh finnish lapphunds are when the coat is rightly formed and you comb them ones in a while. :)

The best grooms are the ones where you remove enough fur to make a plushie the size of the dog, and the dog still looks just as poofy as before 😂 As a Finn I knew that these puppies shed ridiculously (a neighbour has one and hair is always floating over the fence to our yard), but there's shedding and then there's Ilo producing a second Ilo without even losing any of his poof! And he is so precious and very well-behaved! He definitely deserved that head massage, such a good boy ☺️

Lapphunds are incredibly sociable, there's a "Reading Dog" Lapphund at our local library that kids can read stories to.
