I was pleasantly surprised that the joystick on the Atari VCS is also a “spinner” making one of my all time favorite games, Tempest a pleasure to play again when I am not holding it awkwardly as I’m this video.

The paddle function on the joystick is one of the many reasons I'd purchase Atari VCS; games like the arcade and home versions of Pong, Breakout, Super Breakout, Tempest and a few others; it's a challenge to manage control with a rollerball mouse on Windows to play games designed with paddle controller(s). I like the redesign of this new ATARI VCS; has elements of all the previous 2600 models. Thanks for sharing! :)

There's an Atari Flashback that has paddle controllers, which you can find for about 50 dollars. I don't know about Tempest, though. I think there are some PC solutions.

Funny the movement of the hand is not matching the movement of the on-screen claw???

It runs sega saturn and dreamcast emulators? As a retro game console. Play ps1, ps2, gamecube, wii, N64, even the fabulous atari jaguar.

Was there lag when you were spinning the joystick? It seemed to be sluggish when you were moving around.

Can it play emulation station.
That would be cool.

Is it just me or do the controls seem really delayed?
