Trying to decode the technical side of how it could have been done .


It book the whole time, and the iPad screen is projected on the tracked plane on top of the book ( the right hand rotoscope isnt that great and gives this away). Switch to real book is just the project screen changing to projecting actual book image and then stopping projecting at the moment sach flips the page.
