Thanks for the clear instructions. I'm a Cakewalk newbie (migrating from an ancient version of Samplitude Producer, which won't handle 64 bit plug-ins), and for the life of me I couldn't understand why I couldn't hear any sounds from my Kontakt plugin - which was visibly connected (level meters working when triggering from a midi keyboard). The problem was that I had - intuitively? - selected "insert MIDI track". Should have been "insert Soft Synth" - 3:15

I'd never considered my Kontakt samples to be "soft synths", but you live and learn.

OKAY, THEN! Listened again a couple of more times and its starting to come together regarding the vst folders and where things should land and be stored in order to use them in Cakewalk. Going to revisit Kontakt with that free bundle and see if it works this time! 🙂
