It happened with 30 series, 40 series and it will happen again with 50 series.

the fact they have stopped production but the 4060 is till 280 which is how much the 3060 costs is insane, it means that they gonna force you to buy the latest models or get nothing.

I upgrade my card at the announcement of a new GPU generation. When the 2080 announced I sold my 760 and bought a 1080. When the 3080 announced, I sold the 1080 and bought a 2080. When the 4080 announced I sold my 2080 and bought a 3080. The 5080 announced and guess what?? I bought a 4080S and I am cleaning my 3080 right now to sell! When the 6080 announces I will sell my 4080S and buy a 5080. Riding the flagship wave for years!!😀

When 50 series comes out get a used 4090. 5080 will only be 16GB and weaker by far than the 4090.

Ah yes, a brilliant time to be a pc gamer indeed ... with scalper buying every new release and gpu prices getting more insane every new generation, while game developers stopped caring about optimization almost entirely since they can simply use frame generation. truly a remarkably brilliant time!

got a 4080 super last month and super happy with it, you dont need a 5090 to game in 4k 120fps.

if the 5080 specs are true It Is An Avoid, Outright!!! They seem to have succeeded in
shifting the stack up. I suspect the 5090 of being the actual XX80 card of past gens.
Especially if the 5090Ti and Super come to pass. Definitely not buying a $1000 XX70 card in disguise!!!

Still running my trusty 6800xt gpu on my Ryzen 3600. Still runs games in 4K decently enough for me. I'm not made of $$$. There are periods where I don't watch your channel as it's generally rumormill until the excitement of new tech starts appearing.
