The bambino is also a more kitchen friendly size compared to the express

Yep, I did exactly just that. Saved so much money and the Bambino Plus is very fast to make a cup. Blessings...

Personal opinion is separate grinder is important. Imagine a broken grinder you don't know how to repair yourself; 1. you ship the entire thing and now you got nothing; 2. it can't be fixed - do you throw it out or buy a separate grinder to take up even more space? Separate tools allow more flexibility.

I had both and sold both. The barista express was really good. Now I have the Oracle :)

The Bambino’s are limited to dark espresso roast only due to water temperature being fixed. The Barista Express can handle much lighter roasts. Just something to consider.

I got a barista express for christmas and im loving every minute of using it. The time to heat up isnt so bad because by the time its done grinding a perfect amount of coffee at the correct grind, taking most of the guess work out, it's already to temprature. The steam wand is kinda annoying to use though and is hard to properly clean imo.

While the Barista Express starts heating up for 37 seconds, you can start grind coffee and by the time your done it will already be heated up

I will make a side note - faster frothing doesn’t always mean better for those that are learning. Slower frothing can sometimes be a benefit for those who are learning how to create a proper microfoam

I had both the braista express is a better package. bigger water tank, bigger drip tray, you dont have to hold it while putting on the portafilter, bigger area for warming up the cups, its got magnetic holder for the tamper which is tucked in the machine and many more. its all in one package. mine still going strong after years also I had the bambino for 3days and took it back to the store, its a huge downgrade and got weacker pump and also no pressure gauge. save the money and get the breville barista express, this is actual user saying that after 4years of using it everyday for over 10k shots of esspreso.

I wake up. Turn on the barista express. Go take my morning piss. Come back and it’s ready.

The express is great, do not know where you got 37 seconds. Maybe ten seconds max, larger water reservoir, and have no complaints on grinder. Having it all in one is much more convenient.

I don’t make lattes that much but do wish it had the bambino one.

I absolutely agree with your conclusion, but the steaming really has nothing to do with how many holes the steam tip has! 😅
The Bambino Plus simply has better, more powerful, more modern steaming tech. Put a four hole tip on the Barista Express and the steaming power will probably decrease.

Correct to say don't get the one with integrated grinder. But also consider the Duo Temp Pro! Slightly bigger than the Bambino, not as fancy. But it's a simple machine with very little to go wrong (too many electric gadgets on the Bambino). The DTP is an absolute workhorse! A reliable powerhouse for pulling shots of espresso. I've had one for 8 years. Not always been the best with maintenance, yet that thing is still going strong. Used most days for multiple shots.

I bought one about 4 years ago, I use it about 3x a day on average, the steam wand about once a day. It has been faultless. The automatic steaming does such a good job too.

I was going to get the bambino but the barista express goes on sale frequently for the same price as the bambino plus. And it does come with a usable grinder

The Bambino is a great starter for someone who plans to upgrade. The Barista Express is a great starter for someone who's unsure if they want to upgrade.

Also, 37 seconds is still very short compared to the prosumer machines that require 15 minutes to get up to brew temperature.

Having been in the coffee industry for over a decade, I whole heartedly agree with this entire video

I 100% agree. My Bambino isn't a Plus because I can only use plant-based milk, and I've gotten really good at finessing a nice foam with just the Bambino. My Bambino is ready to go when I am and the frother gets the contents of my pitcher hot SO fast! I do all the maintenance that is suggested because I want it to last a long time. My Bambino takes up very little space in my minuscule kitchen, and I absolutely love it! 🧡☕️🍁

Spending the money you save on a new grinder....you know how much grinders cost, right?

You buy semi-automatic espresso machine and complain about waiting 30 seconds? This is ridiculous.
