Glad to know my presumptions of: “oh god, this would make everyone incredibly skeptical of every. Single. 747 in the air.” As soon as I heard about the amount of cruise missiles this thing could carry. was actually addressed.

They put a rotary launcher in a 737, and it's now the Navy P8 Posiden. Replaced the P3 Orion anti-submarine aircraft.

Armed UPS. I saw drawings of a 'secret' 747 cargo hauler and missle launcher. The shipping co. had no clue when a specific crate was placed at the back, a crew would pop out n load the plane like a revolver in the Old West. Arming it to fire wherever UPS flys. 😮

some severe issues with the encoding around 35:47 into the video.

1:33:43 call'em an airboat, simple compromise. You see how easy it is and can be in the essence of friendly cooperation as opposed to unfriendly competition 😮

Its a good decision they reject Boeings offer. America's adversaries could target all B.-747's in times of conflict and turmoil. The reason is that they couldn't identify the cruise missile carrier from the passenger one and they couldn't take the risk.

I'm working on a concept for a new flying aircraft carrier, with it coming out to be about 281 feet in length and a large internal space that'll be about 35 feet wide. And it would have a reduced detection signature.

Love your stuff but the KC-135 was not based on the 707, and it was developed before the 707. It was based on the prototype for both, the dash 80 (367-80). All three had different fuselage diameters, with the dash 80 and KC-135 being noticeably narrower. An airliner with the fuselage of the KC-135 would only be able to have 2+3 seating configurations, instead of the 707’s 3+3.

Slot of these ideas would work.in a fictional novel or even a movie...

I imagine a molten salt reactor would be ideal for the nuclear tug concept.

My brother Jeff was the crew chief for A=10 207 based at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. He routinely had better mission capable rates then were thought possible by Fairchild-Republic.

The craziest things that ever made it to service are the SR-71 and Osprey, in my opinion.

Large guided missile carriers make a lot of sense, which is probably why we use tiny fighter jets to drop one or two at a time instead.
