I remember my summer jobs in HS. Digging footers for steps, slab prep, moving 2A stone around, raking it down. moving wheel barrows all day. Pick bars, picks, shoveling dirt and rocks, setting forms, breaking concrete, ripping it out. Still do some up to these days. Masonry, construction is hard work. Keeps you in shape. It's the best excersise, hands down. Nothing compares to it. Not even lifting weights. Nice work guys.

Hi mason the mason . I was wondering if this is the same ratio for mixing mud for laying block or if the stone is different? Thank you for being so responsive on your comments as well

Hey mase enjoy watching the videos
I’m having issues with spec mix polymer modified mortar and adhering somewhat larger stone veneer. Going from top down and have 1/4 to 3/4” joints. Most of the stones keep falling off. I feel like I have to hold it for like 10 min. I’m wetting the cinder blocks (they’re rough) - no scratch coat. I saw where you use the bonding agent to make it stickier. Maybe that’s what I need to do? Or what about mix with a bit of thinset ?

Hey Mason don’t worry about the haters I think you guys are doing a good job. Thank you for making your videos. As far as the motor goes is that the same mix or same ratio that you would use for block just curious I’m going to be laying some block and I need to do small batches as I am an amateur at masonry

And what if you live in a country or area where everyone (shops) says 'bonding agent??' something in a bottle?

Was that a volley siren? Haven’t heard that in a long time up this way but im guessing whoever is on that fire department roster doesn’t have a way to charge their pagers at home lol

What type of mortar are you using there? Or is that actually cement? I thought when you bought a bag of mortar mix that you weren't really supposed to add anything to it besides water and maybe bonding agent. Thanks for the helpful videos!

I wish ppl would respond to the question of "best mud for laying REAL stone ". Cultured stone or modern 'veneer', has 1/3 of the weight, density, and is wayyy more pourous, than say ACTUAL chunks of blue-stone 'faced' 4 in veneer, on a mortar bed. An fyi versa-bond thin-set or type N due to it's stickyness an heat resistance is ideal for cultured veneer

This is what you get when the pros are leaving the trades....just keep practicing and never forget that you are on a work site. Play the part, look the part, and be the part. Good luck to ya

Hate to say it guys but that looks like shit. You need to give more attention to keeping your stone level. I couldn't really tell in the time laps if you were both working up the front face, one of you on each side, but if you were that explains part of it. One face, one stone mason. I'm not trying to insult your work, just giving you some advice is all.
