How to beat Sword Phantom Ganon | Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom GUIDE

Phantom Ganon is a mini-boss you find throughout The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As you explore Hyrule, you’ll encounter Gloom Hands, a group of enemies which creep out of a gloom pool on the floor. Once you defeat them, you might feel a sense of relief that you’ve cleansed the world of evil, but you’ll soon see another red health bar pop up on your screen with the words “Phantom Ganon” overhead.

There are three different types of Phantom Ganon each with their own weapon: sword, spear, and club. Sword is perhaps the first you’ll encounter, especially if you have travelled through the Lost Woods and arrived at Korok Forest.

I was searching for bubbulfrogs and I found this guy instead. I definitely ran for my life.

I was like "OH COME ON", right after killing those Gloom Hands.

Luckily, this thing was easy to read after a couple of tries.

But then I had to reload and snap a photo of him to add to my collection.

I defeated this Ganon with only 4 hearts and basic weapons(8-10 atk). I suffered through many deaths, but the moment I finally beat him was an incredible feeling🎉

I don't know if this might help people but if you mix a dark clump with rice and rock salt, you can make a dark riceball that gives you protection from the gloom for a little bit.

I like to interpret this as Ganondorf trying to get a gage on how Link fights, before they actually face each other.

Because let's face it, Ganondorf knows he's gonna be facing Link eventually. He always does.

I definitely thought just hitting him in the face with a bow and running was the easiest method for me. The noob way but effective

Fought him with five hearts and only basic weapons. Was not expecting him at all. Thank goodness for flurry rush and the fact that once I calmed down from panicking and watched him he gives some fairly large openings for attacks.

Thankfully i saved all my fruit bombs, jellys and had some sticks attached to bombs saved up. Shadow Ganon was NOT ready for the smoke I gave him 😂

My tip, cook some attack boosting food and once it gets to the actual Gannon phase use your most powerful spear and stick close. You will need to use the opening right after he attacks but don’t worry too much about having to flurry rush he leaves plenty of time to attack up close.

Actually for the spin attack that phantom ganon does, you can actually parry it and perfect dodge it, but blocking is not possible cuz it'll cause link to lose his balance and still get a hit

Found him by complete accident in a certain area after FINALLY working up the courage to fight the gloom hands then THIS guy showed up! 😅😅 It was the spear one and thankfully I beat him 😁😁, they drop some GOOD stuff!

You’re a life safer! I just started playing TOTK and came across him with only 4 hearts. It was a challenge for a newbie like me but I did it after like 20 gazillion deaths

I was minding my business trying to gather food as I'm in the beginning stages of the game. I saw the pool of gloom randomly appear and it started chasing me 😭 the first time I ran, the second time I beat the hand and thought I did so good until this guy appear and killed me 💀 I said "WHAT???!!!!"

I was expecting him to throw electric balls at me so I thought naturally I would wait and smack it back. Nope, he lunged at me with a spear. 😆

I hated the charge attack cause I couldn't tell which way he was gonna swing but now I see 👍

First I dealt with the gloomhands and then this guy pops out of nowhere and I'm like "WHAAAT!? WHAT IS THAT!?"

Note: You can dodge and parry the spin attack. It's just hard to do so and requires some good reading.

This boss is all about having good reads. Watch and pay attention to his attacks.

Gloomy foods help if u wanna fight in the gloomy stuff and if u want ur defense up get the phantom armor. No upgrades with the fairy ❤
