If Bjorn hadn’t done this the. Ragnar would’ve never “dealt” with Floki. Ragnar really only had two true friends and one killed the other, he knew but was afraid to confront it because he feared that confronting the issue would result in him losing his only other friend. By making it public Ragnar HAD to deal with it with a strong punishment otherwise everyone else would see him as weak and go after him but he never actually wanted to punish Floki even though Athelstan’s death hurt him so deeply.

My favorite part about Travis’ performance was how he’d flash these fleeting micro expressions for just a moment. He’d use em either to let you into how his character really felt or to see how his character was manipulating the person he was talking to

Floki needed to be dealt with. Floki was starting to feel too much like Loki and needed to be reminded he too, is human and every humans life is valuable.

travis fimmel was truly immaculate in his role as Ragnar. Every line, every word, delivered perfectly. I've seen so many actors get 'emotion' across but it's truly hard to do it the way he has in vikings.
