Earlier this summer, our German team headed south to the rich farming country of Baden-Württemberg to meet Wolfgang and the other trailblazing farmers bringing new life to their land through regenerative agricultural practices.

“Understanding regenerative agriculture is a very sensory experience, it’s almost as if you can feel the ground shift beneath your feet. The fields managed using regenerative practices put a spring in your step, being composed of rich moist soil; compared to the hard, exhausted and scorched soils of conventional farming methods.” Says Adele Marie Grundmann, a sustainability advisor at South Pole.

With the importance of fully functioning healthy soil to tackle climate change, grow thriving, resilient crops, prevent erosion and boost biodiversity only starting to be understood, this pioneering project is driving multiple benefits across Europe.
