This is definetly why bighit is hesitant to debut any girl group and probably why they don't have trainee debt

edit: i do not think bighit’s decision is misogyny, they have female employees, some holding high positions in the company. Please refrain from commenting such thing as I believe you're misusing the word. They were a small company back then and having to debut and manage a group is far from cheap. With the disbandment of glam they were not only left with debt but also a tarnished reputation. If u nearly drowned in water u would hesitate to go back in, even if u know the water is safe.

I feel like the Burning Sun scandal is darker IMO. **But** this scandal definitely had me shaking my head in disgust/disappointment at both parties. It takes two to tango and these are grown ass adults who *know* better. I just remember feeling so bad for his wife, like if I were in her situation that was aired out to the public... I would feel so heartbroken, embarrassed, and overwhelmed. You can’t even process your emotions because paparazzi/news reporters/fans/etc are hounding you for information. Vaguely remember a video of his wife entering the airport with people yelling “How do you feel about your husband possibly having an affair?” at her while a fan cursed her out for “setting him up” 🙄 (not much information was known at the time & people just assumed she was in on it smh). 😬

Something I got from this case was... it seems they knew he behave like this around other women.. making sexual jokes or comments. Therefore this wasn't the first time he did this with other woman. He had a pattern and the girls used that against him. You don't go planning a thing like this unless you know his weakness.

The girls were wrong to use his weakness in their favor but let's not forget he ain't no saint.

Glad it all got resolved. Sad for his wife cause I think she was even pregnant then... don't remember quite well.

Lee Byunghun until now can still maintain his career being a top actor, that's like almost impossible for other artists, even though whenever the couple talk about their family the comments would be filled mentioning this event

Lee Byun Hyung is no saint - he was cheating on his wife the whole time. Why do we give men such double standards and brush off his infidelity? "it's not the first time a man is cheating" is not an excuse for his behavior.

This is also by no means "the darkest" scandal in Kpop. I can easily think of 3 other darker scandals.

Anybody going to question why a teenager was at a party with most successful actor in South Korea? You hear rumors about K-pop trainees and idols being brought to parties and events and made to mingle with people in the entertainment industry. They're supposed to please them and entertain them and flirt with them and charm them so that they will invest in a comeback or cast them. Those power dynamics are too uneven. You're going to get inappropriate behavior, possible sexual assault. Thosse kids are in way too of vulnerable position and the pressure... They could never say no to any demand made of them by someone who could further their career at a party like that. I hate what Dahee did but who brought her to that She was a kpop idol. A teenager. GLAM members were famously not even allowed cell phones for years. Something is fishy about her meeting him.
