Totally agree with everything you've pointed in this video. We usually tend to impose our views on dating and expect others to think or act like us but that's so wrong, especially if we live in other culture on the other side of the world. Very insightful and down to earth video and every advice you gave us. Thanks Annie. Greetings from Romania

I really like the info you provided, thank you for bursting the bubble of the two extremes, that is the guys aren't as dreamy as portrayed in K-Dramas and they aren't as bad as described in the "Foreigners dating experience in Korea" videos🥰

Groundbreaking insight. A song of hope in all the noise. It really is about understanding the culture you’re in without first assuming offense

How do girls in Western culture react when their friends say they're going on a date with a guy they met at the club? Every time my friends say that here I know how it's going to end up (badly) 😔

Absolutely! Dating mentality is everything in dating. Back when I used to be deep in the casual online dating scene, my cousin and I would pull guys from tinder left and right, but her dates were always the worst and mine were generally fun and okay, same pool of guys in the same area, but two completely different experiences

I had no idea there was a hook up app for married people… what the f**k is wrong with society 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I can totally relate 😌 I’ve been here in Korea for just over 7months now & experienced exactly what you’ve mentioned 😅 thankfully the guys I met weren’t so bad and were actually very nice, Just wasn’t my style 😂
Anyways, love watching your videos ❤️, great to know I’m not alone throughout this experience living here in 🇰🇷 😆 take care always 😘

I really love how you've styled your hair in this video! How do you achieve those curls or waves maybe? 🤔

I’m moving to Korea in November. I don’t know a soul there lol. Can you make a video about how you make friends and stuff there?

Maybe it’s just for me and the people I surround myself, but the concept of finding real love on Tinder is just for the lack of a better term: crazy. I think that most people around my age would agree that Tinder is used as a hook-up app here in Germany. You (should) know that these people on there ain’t here for love. It’s like a societal norm that everyone agreed on, in my age demographic (I’m 23). It’s to arrange a hook up as soon as possible. Of cause there are exceptions, but basically everyone plays by those rule. So that people in the US or other parts of the world are actually dating their Tinder-matches seems so crazy to me.

In regards to tinder, my non-Korean female friends here say this about it and I agree. "A foreign woman on tinder here gets quantity, a foreign male on tinder gets quality."

This is an obvious generalization, but it means a foreign woman will get 100s of matches with Korean guys, most of who want to hookup. A guy gets 1 or 2 matches a month, but the Korean women are looking more for a relationship. Yes there are some exceptions, but this is a generalization that I've found to be quite true.

Take this with a pinch of salt, I've not been on tinder during the covid times as I'm not wanting to be the reason foreigners are blamed for covid numbers rising.

I think it is a little contradictory to say that it s understandable if they ghost you because it is part of their culture to value decorum and avoid confrontation, when at the say time you admit they wouldn't do that with a friend of a friend because it would damage their reputation. That tells me that in that culture ghosting is also a bad and rude thing to do, therefore it shouldn't be acceptable in most cases. To me, it just sound like if they can get away with it because it is with a stranger they will do it, it is not that much different that what people do in my Western country lol

This is actually refreshing. I thought it was going to be rehashed advice but I actually havent heard other Youtubers break down in this way.
I hope this gets a lot of views. Its a very real cultural misunderstanding out here

Thanks for making this video, it gave me a different perspective I have never thought about. And yeah I strongly believe that the way you think of yourself also projects on the outside, although sometimes it is hard because of what people could have said in the past.

I know you'll never respond or don't care however your beauty is something special. Your accent, your features and voice is angelic

There's that saying "if you keep doing the same thing, you'll keep getting the same result". I always see those dating stories with the person being shocked that they got ghosted or the guy wanting/saying fwb & my first thought is "well no sh* Sherlock". Its like pressing down on an open wound & wondering why its not healing.

I was a bit dubious when I first saw the title of the video but this is really great content. You make excellent points about how people expect things to be the same as they are in their country and then get mad when it isn’t. You see this sort of thing a lot when people leave Korea and despite benefiting from being there they incessantly complain about things they didn’t like.

So, what I really liked about this video was viewing it from the point of view of a Korean person. You’ll always have jerks in any country though.

I’ve once dated an korean man but who also lived his whole live in germany! He was not the best looking and treated me like sh*t!
We went to dates and had seggs and after 3 months he just unfollowed and blocked me on ig! He was not the best looking but I think he had a lot koreaboos and just take advantage of you when you dont care about nationality
