I think that communication thing is in a lot of places. I have international friends (I'm from India) and even my clients are European. They're very communicative. It's like a cultural shock for me, specially in case of my friends. For clients, since its work, I do talk, cause that's my job. But for friends, idk, I don't talk much (moreover, I'm an introvert). But that doesn't mean I'm not interested or I wanna cut ties, but I'm just busy, and believe me, that's how it is, in India. Indian middle class people have hard time balancing work and life, we have to work a lot more than what's mentioned in the offer letter of the job, and we don't even get paid for the overtime (mostly, sometimes we do). So, after a long day of work, we just wanna watch some Netflix and have some good food, instead of going out w friends and hang out. We just don't have the energy. But that doesn't change any friendship because we understand that we all are busy and we need time for ourselves. Ofc, there are exceptions, but I, it was a cultural shock for me, when I started having connections with international people.
